In its first season, performing to 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring,' as performed by Josh Groban, PHOENIX competed in IHSCGA's class 'B' and won first place at Homestead High School's Winterguard Contest, Bishop Dwenger High School's Winter Fantasy, and Heritage High School's Winterguard Contest. At IHSCGA's final class 'B' competition at Mooresville High School, PHOENIX placed second.

In 2006, PHOENIX won first place in IHSCGA's 'B' Division, performing their show 'Stormfront,' featuring music from the Rippingtons, Eva Cassidy and Eddie Rabbit.

 On Saturday, March 11, North Side's Winterguard, Phoenix, won the IHSCGA Division 'B' Finals at Center Grove High. Performing their 2006 competition show 'Stormfront,' Phoenix won Class 'B' at the Bishop Dwenger and Heritage High School contests, and placed 2nd at the Eastern High School (Greentown) earlier this year.

PHOENIX is under the direction of Shane Hapner, assisted by Larry Kenner. Additional staff members include Caitlin Beavers and Dena Pickens.
