'phoenix' winterguard wins Indiana High School Color Guard Association's 2006 class 'b' division finals
On Saturday, March 11 2006, North Side's Winterguard, Phoenix, won the IHSCGA Division 'B' Finals at Center Grove High. Performing their 2006 competition show 'Stormfront,' Phoenix won two other contests earlier in the year.

32nd annual evening of jazz closes the 2006 concert season

The annual Evening of Jazz concert launched the audience into Memorial Day weekend with an exciting collection of jazz standards and contemporary jazz sounds. The concert featured all three of North Side's jazz ensembles (Jazz III, Jazz II and the Wildsiders Jazz Ensemble), and was under the direction of Mr. Ed King II. Marching band performs in three rivers festival parade
On Saturday, July 8 North Side's Marching Band performed in the Three Rivers Festival Parade. Their return to the parade was part of the celebration of Forth Wayne Community School's 150th Anniversary. The parade was the culmination of three weeks of rehearsals, and kicked off the 2006-2007 edition of the marching band. It was nice to 'be back' and to see so many Band alumni and fans! 14th Annual North Side Jazz Festival Features Saxophonist Ernie Watts; Snider and Merrillville named as honor Bands
Grammy-winning saxophonist Ernie Watts displayed his amazing virtuosity at the 14th Annual North Side Jazz Festival which was held on March 25. After a day-long competition of 27 jazz ensembles, Mr. Watts presented an educational clinic, stressing the importance of daily practice. Jazz bands from Snider and Merrillville High Schools were then selected as honor bands, leading off the evening concert. This was followed by performances by the Wildsiders and the New Millennium Jazz Orchestra, both featuring Mr. Watts as guest artist.
